£1,000 donation from the Dennis and Kathleen Smith Fund

We recently received a £1,000 donation from the Dennis and Kathleen Smith Fund (administered by The Essex Community Foundation)

We are over the moon with the surprise arrival of this donation.
As many of you know Just Ride is changing and expanding. We have introduced ‘Rides Out’ and ‘Learn to Ride Sessions’.

Rides Out
Instructors from Cycle Southend will lead rides out from Garons (during our normal session times). These rides will take place once a month during the warmer, dryer months. Places will need to be booked in advance. Riders will still only pay the usual £2 donation, and will need to provide their own carer(s) if necessary.

Learn to Ride Session
These sessions are run by Gwen. They are aimed at riders who cannot yet ride a two-wheeler, but who would like to give it a try. Just Ride is paying for the coaching and riders only pay the usual £2 donation. The sessions are 45 minutes long and there are only 3x riders per session. Most sessions are for children, but there are also places for adults. So far, all riders have made progress and have gone away happier and more confident.

Along side the donation being used to run these two projects, we have used some of the money to help install our new solar panel! We now have lights in all three containers and can run small voltage appliances if needs be. We are so please with our eco-friendly energy!
